April 10, 2011 is just around the corner. Opera enthusiasts will not want to miss the free Festival of Opera and Art at the Palm Desert’s Civic Center on San Pablo Avenue and Fred Waring Drive. The four-hour concert starts at 12:30 and is an event that all ages can enjoy.
The festival is the perfect opportunity to relax with the family and have a fun-filled day while listening to a variety of talented musicians. Palm Desert’s first free concert was in 1999, and the yearly free concert has become increasingly popular each successive year. Whether you love listening to a pianist, are enraptured by a soloist, or just want to enjoy music from an orchestra, this concert has music that will keep you entranced as you hear musicians from around the world.
Many people do not have the opportunity to experience opera because of the cost. The Festival of Opera and Art makes opera music affordable for everyone. Even if, you do not enjoy opera the festival includes visual arts and plenty of other activities for the entire family. In addition to crafts, there will be food, face painting and other activities.
